       On 11 September 2001,   Arab extremists associated with Al-Qaeda attempted suicide attacks in the United States, in which almost 3000 people died and over 10000 were injured, making it the most lethal terrorist attempt in history.         Everything started in the morning when 19 terrorists hijacked four planes. According to the plan, the terrorists were supposed to attack three targets: the WTC, The Pentagon(which unfortunately were successful attempts) and according to conspiracy theories - the White House or the U.S. Capitol. We don’t know it because the plane aimed to do this   crashed near Shanksville in western Pennsylvania, thanks to the passengers who after finding out about earlier attacks, decided to fight the hijackers, sacrificing themselves in order to stop the plane before reaching the target.      9/11 is one of the most important events in this century, in which a lot of innocent people...

  The Black Death was one of the greatest disasters in history- a plague which in six years killed over 30% of Europeans.   The plague started in China in the 1330s and it arrived in Europe in 1347   at the Sicilian port of Messina when 12 ships from the Black Sea docked and because of rats, in a short amount of time the plague spread on the whole Europe. Medieval Europe wasn't prepared for the epidemic. In those times medical knowledge was so poor that doctors were powerless to stop it and they even couldn’t find what was the cause of the plague so people started to believe that this was a punishment from God. Symptoms of the plague were fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, terrible aches and pains but the biggest problem was that in contrast to the modern epidemic, the mortality rate of the black death was unbelievable high.   On October 12,1492 an Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and his crew reached an Island in the present-day Bahamas archipelago. This day is consider as the official discovery of America. (There are rumours that Leif E riksson had done this before) It's good to know that Christopher Columbus didn't plan to discover new lands. The purpose of the voyage was to find a sea route to India because the Ottoman Empire had closed the land routes to the East and the sea route from the Red Sea was hard to access so no one was expecting that Columbus will find new land. In total the Italian explorer participated in 4 voyages. All of them had a huge impact on the life of medieval people. The discovery of America was definitely a real breakthrough in history. Due to this, we can nowadays eat potato, corn, or tomatoes, the world population increased, making the world's human inhabitants became more genetically and ethnically interconnected.
