Cancer survivor joins first all-civilian space mission

Hayley Arceneaux is the first bone cancer survivor to become an astronaut. In January this 29-old physician assistant was picked to join the crew of the world's first all-civilian space mission which was funded by  Jared Isaacman, a 38-year-old billionaire. Of the four available seats on the spacecraft, one was offered to a member of staff at the hospital who turned out to be Hayley, Thanks to Issacamn she will he first person with a prosthetic body part to visit space. In my opinion, Hayley’s story is very inspiring. At the age of 10, she was fighting for her life and now after 19 years, she will become the youngest  American ever to orbit Earth. I think Ms Arceneaux is a true inspiration for people who lost their self-belief or face many difficulties in their life such as serious illness or disability. She shows that even if you are not perfect you can still achieve wonderful things.     https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56159726

What happens when you work from bed for a year

For many people, working from home has also come to mean working from bed. Getting dressed and commuting to an office has been replaced by splashing water on your face and cracking open a computer as you settle back under your blanket.    Unfortunately, the reality is that turning your bed into your office can trigger a slew of health problems, both psychological and physical. In my opinion, working from bed is for sure the path of least resistance. It’s comfortable and pleasant but I think that its consequences clearly show us that it shouldn’t be practised under no circumstances. Sitting on a bed for too long causes strain in the neck, back and hips what then may lead to pain in these parts of the body. Furthermore, when you work from bed it ruins your productivity and sleep habits because our brain no longer considers bed a place for sleep but a place where your ideas come,  causing disorders such as insomnia. https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20210217-is-i...

Revenge Bedtime Procrastination

Many young Chinese workers prioritise leisure time over sleep after long workdays – even though they know it’s unhealthy. Because of China’s notorious ‘996 schedule’ (working from nine in the morning to nine in the evening, six days a week), a huge part of them is depressed and deprived of their personal life. The phenomenon when people who don’t have much control over their daytime life refuse to sleep early in order to regain some sense of freedom during late-night hours is called  " revenge bedtime procrastination" and it's getting more and more popular.   In my opinion, sleep is a crucial need in everybody’s life and it shouldn’t be shortened. Eight hours of sleep per day is a minimum and in order to live a happy life, we have to stick to it. It may seems cool that you can sleep 5 hours a day without any obstacles but that’s just a delusion. A lack of sleep has many negative effects such as weakening immunity, high blood pressure, mood changes and even memory issu...

Tianwen-1

Obraz
Tianwen-1, The Chinese spacecraft, launched on 23, July 2020   has sent its first picture of Mars and according to  Chinese National Space Administration is expected to enter Mars orbit around 10 February.  The black and white photo below was taken from about 2.2 million kilometres away from the Red Planet and shows some   geological features such as the Schiaparelli crater,  an impact crater on Mars which is 461 kilometres in diameter    and the Valles Marineris,   a vast stretch of canyons on the Martian surface. Tianwen-1 includes a Mars orbiter, lander, and a rover that will study the planet’s soil. This mission is China’s second attempt to reach Mars after its previous mission from 2011 ended prematurely as the launch failed.  Tianwen-1 proves  that The Red Dragon finally joins to the space race and due to ambitious plans including assembling a space station in Earth orbit by 2022 and billions of dollars to spend China may ...
